Hello, CCBC-Net members,
A visitor to my Kids' Books site at About.com is seeking the title of book. Below is brief description. I would appreciate any help you could offer.
"My friend has been looking for a book that she remembers from her childhood. She is 42 now and I would guess she was between 5 and 10 when her sister bought her this book. The story is about a man who draws pictures in a field where there are three ponies. Three princes are looking for three princesses so the man dresses the ponies up as princesses and they go before the princes. Eventually the deception is discovered and the ponies and the man are sent to the dungeon. She remembers the pictures were beautifully done and she remembers the ponies crying in the dungeon with their pearl necklaces broken all over. The three princesses find out that the ponies are held in the dungeon, free them and the man becomes their groom and everyone lives happily ever after together."
