Well, after booktalking *megaboy* for weeks and not getting any nibbles, this year, today my teen book group got off on crime and psychopaths and Colombine HS. They backed into the discussion after one student reported on *True Crime* (the novel). Then th ey couldn't stop talking. I didn't know our HS has had extensive lockdown drills. It was just one little fluke, and they were off and I just shut up and listened. They had mostly read SF and horror (as usual) and it just happened.
I have booktalked *Scorpions* and gotten some kids to read it, but I am swinging over tothe opinion that my group, at least, this summer, at least, doesn't want to read adolescent crimefiction.
