Hi,

I did not mean to imply that the work is incomplete. Your list of books about resistance is partly what I'm getting at---too often these works are missing from a study of slavery. I've been interviewing history teacher for the last five months about what they use when teaching about slavery. Only two out of ten of them has mentioned one of the works you listed above.

I truely think Feeling's work is powerful and needed. And I don't think he has to take on the responsibility of articulating everything about slavery or the African American experience, but I sure think it would be very unique to capture images of African resistance in art. For this aspect of enslavement is least addressed in the classroom.
