Arrrgh!!!

My 15 year old son has asked weekly for the last year and a half when this book would be coming out (including asking Pullman himself at a signing), and a bookseller finally told him recently that it was due in Oct. 99. He's going to be so disappointed when he learns that was wrong!!

I've had too much work lately to allow me enough time to read, but I have followed this discussion. Tomorrow's errands will take me near Schwartz's?I'll pick up the Harry Potter stories. Judging from the responses of many of you, maybe they will stave off the pangs of longing that waiting another half year to find out what next happens to Lyra and Will will give my poor boy.
