Arthur, thank you for clarifying questions about the "translation" process. I must confess to being intrigued by the question of translation raised for me by reading the American version. Intrigued enough to get the Bloomsbury edition from amazon.uk, and put my detail-oriented 11 year old on the job. He did a page by page comparison, and we both learned a thing or two about the English language as it is spoke on both sides of the pond! Most of the "translation" seemed deftly done to me, not intrusive. Only
"mum" to "mom" rang not quite true, somehow.
