In response to Belinda's question about the different cover on Harry Potter in England, what I have been told is that the book was issued with two covers in England. First it came out as a children's book with a child-oriented cover (I've seen the hardback cover--of Harry standing at Platform 9 3/4 to with the scarlet steam engine of the Hogwart's Express behind him). My understanding is that the book became so popular among adult as well as child readers that a second cover was issued that would be more appealing (or less embarrassing?) to adults--a cover that did not make it obvious that it was a book published for children.
If anyone out there in the know has the official story on the covers, please share it!

Many articles have mentioned that Harry Potter was published with a different cover for adults in England. I was in London at Easter time. I did not ever see Harry Potter in a different cover. My son is studying there right now and I asked him to pick me up a copy if he ever sees it. So far he hasn't found one. Has anyone out there actually seen the book with another cover?
