This is the only author biography I have read, except for R.L Stine's, which was actually very interesting. I don't generally care to read biographies of any kind, but since I had the opportunity to have dinner with Lois Lowry, I was interested in finding out more about the life she discussed, like her home and handy man and her son. I was only going to read some of the entries, but after I opened up to one page, I had to start from the beginning and read it all. Our copy was just checked out, so I do not remember details, but because of the pictures, I am thinking it might be useful for young people to see how a skinny uncertain girl, with of course, normal problems, could turn into a beautiful successful woman who understands children so well. But that may be the same for many biographies, as I remember being surprised at all the little jobs R.L. Stine had to take before he sold millions of the Goosebumps books.
