Dear Fellow Teachers,
I've found some great books for sale on-line that enhance vocabulary skills, encourage greater comprehension and higher-level thinking skills, and lend themselves beautifully to cross-curriculum activities. What makes these books unique is that they are written by an author who is learning disabled and illustrated by an artist who is color blind. This makes the books inspiring to all children, and especially to those with disabilities themselves.
The author is wonderful to work with because he is dedicated to helping promote children's literacy. He will give teachers a bulk price, as he did for me. In addition, when I purchased a book for each of my students, not only did the author personally autograph each book, but further personalized the autographs by addressing the children by their first names, making the gift of a simple book a special treasure.
My students were so grateful for the books that they wrote letters to the author, which he published on his web site for all to read. You can see what they said using the following link:
Ms. Forey's Fourth Grade Class Says Thank You
I hope you will look into his books, even read them on-line, using the following link:
Malibu Children's Books for Kids or http://www.malibu-kids.com
Just thought you'd like to know about these terrific books as another resource for children's literature.
Sincerely, Theresa
