Hi all, About autobiography: readers young and old will certainly enjoy In Praise of Our Fathers and Our Mothers: A Black Family Treasury by Outstanding Authors and Artists, edited by Wade and Cheryl Hudson (Just Us Books). This anthology chronicles the family lives of some 50 cream of the crop African American authors and illustrators, including the Hudsons, of course, with contributions from Joyce Hansen, Virginia Hamilton, Floyd Cooper, Faith Ringgold, Angela Johnson, the McKissacks, Brian and Myles Pinkney, and so many others. It's excellent reading not only for children, who can see how these authors and illustrators came to their crafts and the influence of family, but also good for adults who seek inspiration for the will to write and create, no matter what.
