Thanks to everybody who helped with my long shot last week that turned out to be not so long (Struwwelpeter by Heinrich Hoffmann, a 150-year-old cautionary classic I'd never heard of). To echo the patron who was looking for a book with nothing but a description of the cover with yellow flowers to go on Librarians know everything! (The sum total of our knowledge being even greater than the individual brilliance of the librarian.)

Thanks again - you've helped make another patron very happy and recapture a piece of his childhood.
