I know we don't use the listserv for commercial ventures, but we see this as a service to the ccbc community for whom the following will be very useful.
The Children's Book Committee at Bank Street College of Education has released the 1999 edition of The Best Children's Books of the Year. The list of 600 books, arranged by age and category, includes a centerfold section of 24 books concerning immigration. The list, published annually by the nonprofit Committee for over 75 years, strives to guide parents, teachers, and librarians to the best books for children. This year, a new category for ages twelve and up has been added.
