I loved Pete's a Pizza and think that it is good there is an award for text now in a pic book because the text of this book is soooo good. I noticed the parents were older and thought Steig is thinking of himself now, interesting. It doesn't bother me that kids see him as grandpa. There are a lot of grandparents acting as parents these days. It's probably a good idea that it a possible interpretation but not the only one. I love Steig so much. I am glad there is another award he can get. I would give him a few Caldecotts too. I think his type of illustrations are equal to the painterly ones.
