Having had my own children in my mid and late thirties, and a husband who is 18 years older, our family has always experienced strangers taking for granted that my husband is the children's grandfather (especially since his white beard made him look even older, and I'm convinced that many little children gravitate to him because they think he's Santa Claus). Maybe we're another minority that it is about time we see portrayed in children's books?
