I reviewed Breaking Ground/Breaking Silence last year and found it to be a very powerful book. I loved the way the process of discovery of the burials was interleaved with the process of uncovering this history in written documents. It was also emotionally very powerful to learn about the lives of people who were not able to speak for themselves, and to discover a whole piece of history about which I knew nothing.
It highlighted the excitement and the significance of research in archaeology and history.
