Holes, and others

CCBC'ers: I believe I already wrote about "Holes" saying that it combined Cormier on the serious side with another author who is quite humorous--and whose name escapes me for the moment. In a review I wrote on the good Peck's (Richard) book "Strays," I mentioned that it walked hand in hand with "Holes." I won't say, "Think about it."--but it may be worth a passing thought about how very much we, in this country, dislike our children. Now, that ought to cause some responses telling me I'm wrong and letting me have it in clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades. That's just fine because I'm always interested in those whose ridiculous opinions counter my ridiculous opinions.

And...if anyone can remember the other author to whom I compared Sacher, I'd be grateful. That's what happens when one grows old; one forgets what one has said.

Happy Year of the Rabbit to all of us.
