I would agree with Walter except for one thing: I DO find Snowflake awe-inspiring. I think because it has, for me, a timeless feel to it. When I pick it up I feel transported to another world. It has a reverence for Bentley's life, but also an acknowledgement of the importance of pursuing dreams and one's own path. And I believe children will respond to that. I don't think this magic can happen WITHOUT both art and words coming together, and certainly Jackie Martin's vision here was as strong and compelling as Mary Azarian's. It's a wonderful choice.
