Before we move on to our discussion of the Newbery Medal books for 1999, I'd like to thank everybody who contributed to our discussion of "Snowflake Bentley," as well as the Caldecott Honor Books. Many people have commented recently that 1998 was one of the best years for children's books we've had in quite some time, and this is certainly clear in the final choices of the 1999 Caldecott Award Committee.
If you have any last minute thoughts about "Snowflake Bentley," or any of the year's Honor Books, please feel free to take this opportunity to share them.
