I haven't had any postings since discussion began on the Newbery Honor book.Could that be because everyone feels as surprised as I do that it was chosen? Not that it's bad, simply not distinguished. It struck me as Blossom Culp revisited, even to the point of knocking over the outhouse again. Mildly amusing (the only chapter that made me laugh out loud was the fishing chapter), outsized characters, richly idiomatic Midwestern speech: but not truly distinguished. Could someone who feels differently add their point of view? Christine M. Hill Willingboro Public Library One Salem Road Willingboro, NJ 08046 chill at willingboro.org
