I have to disagree slightly with Tom about the accuracy of Matt Christopher's terminology. His swimming terminology in The Winning Stroke was off. I can't remember all the mistakes, but calling freestyle
"Australian crawl" is pretty bad. Since he only died a year ago, it is quite possible that he had a number of books in the pipeline which are just appearing, however if they are still coming out in a year or two, we should worry about ghostwriting. My nephew, an ice hockey player, devoured MC's books when he was younger but since he is a man of extremely few words, I cannot get him to tell me what he liked. I am not a fan of MC's fiction, however I reviewed his biography of Tiger Woods which was published this year and was pleasantly surprised. It was compelling and inspiring, with the right mix of personal information and play by play. An exemplary sports bio, really. Christine M.
