As we approach the end of the month on CCBC-Net, we'd like to thank everyone who's participated in our discussion on sports books for young readers, especially our special guests, Tom Hurlburt and Sue Macy.
Ginny Kruse, Megan Schliesman and I are headed for the midwinter conference of the American Library Association, so we'll be gone for a few days, but please feel free to continue the discussion, if any of you have any last-minute questions or comments to make about sports books. This is also the time when we invite the CCBC-Net community to make announcements related to children's and young adult literature.
Many people are waiting the big announcement that will come next Monday morning (Feb 1, 1999) at the press conference during ALA at which we learn the winners of the Caldecott, Newbery, Batchelder and Coretta Scott King Awards. The results of these discussions will be posted on CCBC-Net as soon as we hear them on Monday morning, and we'll be discussing the winning titles beginning next week when we'll talk about the Caldecott Medal winner and honor books. We hope you'll enjoy participating in the discussion.
In the meantime, carry on with your discussion of sports books!
