ALA's sports problem

This is a sidelight, but I have to point out that there is a real problem about sports and the library world. And that is this, Midwinter is very frequently scheduled during Superbowl weekend. This is only of great concern when one's favorite team is playing -- wasn't this an issue for CCBC people in Packer years? What it means to me all depends on what happens in Denver on Sunday. Sure you can watch a game anywhere. But if your team is playing, half the fun of watching is being with your fellow fans.
I'm saying this in fun, but I do sometimes think the library world doesn't see with what passion those of us who love sports actually do love sports.
