My absolute favorite book of 1998 is "The Windy Day," by G. Brian Karas. If I ran the world it would win the Caldecott. Whoooosh.
I have not decided on a favorite book for older readers yet, but I just finished "Holes," and I'd love to know if anyone else who read it (and that's a lot of you) was reminded of Vonnegut? (A master of the nonlinear for adults.) I know that this is off-topic, so please respond to me offlist if you're inclined to do so at all. I just need to know if I'm the only one . . . .
