I'm buying my 17 yr. old daughter Squids Will Be Squids. I'm also tempted to buy her I lost My Bear, by Feiffer. He has truly captured a child-like angst in this title. Two personal favorite picture books I'm purchasing for younger relations and myself include Five Little Piggies, by David Martin, illus. by Susan Meddaugh and a storytelling masterpiece, The Giant Carrot, by Jan Peck with illustrations by Barry Root.
