One of my absolute favorites of 1998 is nonfiction - _Martha Graham: A Dancer's Life_ by Russell Freedman. Freedman is a master at biographies, and this is one of his best - I could see, feel and hear Martha Graham in the pages of this book! And the photographs that accompany the text are an amazing record of her dances; each is perfectly placed within the prose to extend the experience for the reader.
