Although his question is a good one and one without a definitive answer, it is not what we're discussing at this point. GMK

Hi. I'm a student at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and a new member of this discussion group. I'm trying to find if there is an accepted definition of what a children's book is: ie, what are the ages the book should be appropriate for, and what criteria are used to determine that a book belongs in the children's section of a library or bookstore, versus the young adults section and the adults section? I appreciate any ideas you might have on this.

Thanks! Gary
