I sharedthe book yesterday with a high-reader 14 year old volunteer. I asked her to look it over and couldn't pry it loose until she had finished it. (Has anyone mentioned that it is a quick read?) The absence of Robbie's voice bothered her; she felt it was incomplete without that. Also she voiced a concern that a book like this "might get someone to try it." This community suffered a particularly gruesome adolescent thrill-kill not very long ago, which is one reason I bought the book for the library. We had a short but thoughtful discussion on the topic.
