MEGABOY also reminded me of Avi's NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH, subtitled A DOCUMENTARY NOVEL. MAKING UP MEGABOY has that same documentary quality, and also deals with issues of perspective. The story changes as it is told by different people. The story itself begins to take on a life of its own. Was Avi's novel a first at this? Did it seem ground breaking at the time? If not what came before it?
