KT: I am less equipped to speak about this extraordinary book than its
editor, Dick Jackson, but my feeling was that this the story was
non-linear. There was not a traditional beginning, middle, and end;
there was very little exposition to set the story in a time and place;
there was no discernible narrative drive. Though I am no scholar, the
storytelling reminded me of authentically-transcribed aboriginal tales
from Australia, or American Indian tales, where the plot picks up
along a great timeline of story, and leaves off some point later.
GO AND COME BACK is not fragmented, as are MEGABOY and BAT 6, or
episodic, as is WHIRLIGIG, but I would classify it as non-linear.
