Personally, I am an avid reader of children's literature. While I do teach language arts (sixth grade), and I read for my kids, I also read for myself. I love children's books. I don't, however, read many reviews. I was recieving The Horn Book for a while through school, but it was often difficult to find the time to fit it in. I have been using this list as a source for many of the books I read. In addition, the librarian at my school knows how much I read and is always handing me a new book to try. In turn I suggest a lot of books to my colleagues. I guess most of the teachers in my school hear about books through "word of mouth." Whether they take the time to read them is another story. Many teachers also feel that when they take the time to read outside of school they want to read Adult books, since so much of their lives are taken up with things for kids.
