Dear CCBCers: When I was working, I tried to copy reviews of books relevant to teachers' subjects and distributed them to those I thought might be concerned--and indicated that the books were on order. But what was so frustrating was that (a) too many teachers didn't read in field or out and (b) reviews were considered my domain and not theirs.
When I cam across a teacher, nurse, or administrator who was interested, I rolled out the red carper and you can bet that those people had more books purchased to meet their interests than did the non-readers. But, as a side note, when it came time to purchase periodicals, you won't be surprised to learn that there were always requests for "House Beautiful", "Playboy" and similar titles of far more interest to the teachers than the students
(well, maybe not "Playboy").
The above is only one person's response to Ginny's question.
Grandma (who always provides a short plot summary in her reviews--SHORT--the rest is discussion of style, medium, physical book, character, etc., etc.)
