Leonard is absolutely right - UN disliked meetings and this was a good way to share information with members of the department - both good and bad. At the end of each day everyone's correspondence was put into a folder and circulated the next morning. .Back correspondence was often attached to the latest response. The high point of the day was. when the folder finally reached your desk especially if you were a lowely reader and one of the last to get the folder. UN would often make comments on the correspondence and encouraged others to do the same To answer Linnea Hendrickson yes,UN's letters were spontaneous and free flowing; she thought as she typed. Her dedication to children's books and and their creators was unparalled. It was a privillege and pleasure to work for Ursula Nordstrom .
