It was months ago that I read the introduction to Dear Genius, and I am now getting back to the letters...I'm about halfway through the book... but I still remember how exciting, delightful, revealing and beautifully written the introduction was. I remember reading several passages from the intro aloud to my partner... and thinking ohmygosh, I hope the letters aren't a disappointment after this wonderful introduction.
They aren't.
I still swoon when I think about this book, for all the connections it makes, is making, with the creators and appreciative audience of fine children's books. I feel "bathed in happiness" (DG page 217) when I read it and discuss it.
Betty Tisel Minneapolis a mom and eternally, a reader of children's books
P.S. Moderators, I came back from vacation in the middle of this discussion. Where do we go from here?
