credit to editors

This is the most interesting discussion. I loved Dear Genius! And I thought it ended much too soon. UN certainly showed that books are a work of love for an editor as well as an author. And all those supportive letters! Do editors have time to do that anymore?
On the other thread going on here, why is it in this discussion of credit for editors that it seems to be the editors who are resisting? Take a bow. Authors like you, we really, really like you! As to editors being deluged with unsolicited manuscripts, they would be from writers who did their homework, reading what has been done, what has been successful. That can't hurt, can it?
