I am so glad you mentioned_Kindness_, Dick. That is the first book of Cynthia Rylant's that I read and I fell in love with her storytelling. I was particularly touched by the one about the grandfather. I then started buying Rylant books for my sixth grade classroom library. I didn't even realize that she had written picture books like _An Everyday Book_. I am also enjoying the Henry and Mudge and The Mr. Putter and Tabby Series.
_Kindness_ was well liked by avid readers in my classroom because it is a quick easy book to read when the teacher (me) says "I think you will really like this one." Thank you for bringing up my favorite Rylant book. Edie Danieli edanieli at nh.ultranet.com
