As a Morgan horse breeder, I have 3 pairs of bib overalls and 6 pairs of jeans. Most working farmers I know have several pairs of bib overalls. Perhaps the "politically correct librarian" should check the Oshkosh-Bigosh sales figures for say, Iowa, before leaping to pc-ness.

I have a sad &/or strange story about Rylant's "The Relatives Came." A famous and most politically correct librarian objected to the illustrations because they showed people wearing bib overalls. The f&pc lib'n thought that it was a stereotype. When I heard that I was astounded and wondered just what people who work on farms wear and why it was a stereotype. I still don't know but think the book is a delight.
Strange world we live in sometimes. Rylant's books have such poetry in them and such fine stories that I guess I missed the objection.
