Hello Folks:
Some of my favorites are Willie Bea and the Time the Martians Landed, Come Sing Jimmy Jo, and The Times They Used To Be (unfortunately, it is out of print). Each book has some wonderful humorous episodes and language ( rooted in particular geographic and cultural contexts) along with poignant episodes. I also love the humor of Paula Danziger, Francesca Lia Block, Gary Soto, and W. D. Myers' earlier books such as Fast Sam Cool Clyde and Stuff. Some series fiction can be pretty funny as well.
