A friend who is a former children's book seller is in France. I asked her what she recognized in bookstores translated into French. She has found
"Little House" books, Roald Dahl, and Sweet Valley Twins in every bookstore in Paris. Some Gary Paulsen, Where's Waldo, "Bugs in Boxes" pop-ups, and Dorling Kindersley Eyewitness series. Also Spot, and Helen Oxenbury for the youngest Parisians. Definitely more Brits than Americans, but no Philip Pullman (a favorite of ours). An interesting combination!
