About Nero Corleone- I loved it. Sorry Ruth. I did feel that it was right on the edge of sentimentality and might have even gone over a couple of times, but being a cat lover, I didn't really care. Nero, the farm cat who becomes a member of the German bourgeoisie, is a great character.
As is sometimes the case with European books, I did feel that perhaps this book was written for adults or with a few too many winks to the adult reader. Since the copy I am ordering for my school has not arrived yet, I don't yet know how kids will feel about this.
