After reading all of the commentary on Ella Enchanted, I find it impossible to continue lurking. I agree and disagree with much of what was said. I was not disapointed in the ending. In fact, I expected it. From the start this book followed the conventions of the Cinderella story. I had no reason to believe it would end any differently. The magic of this book for me was that, while I knew where I would end up, I couldn't wait to see how I would get there.
