Dear Linnea and all: I reviewed "In Daddy's Arms I Am Tall" for Booklist, and wrote to my editor, there: I sure hope the award committees notice! And I was very grateful that they did. Javaka Steptoe took the art of collage for book illustration to a new level here, and the relationships between the text and the art were rich, evocative, and often gorgeous. One of the things I loved most was how universal the "Daddy" images and relationships were: some made me misty just thinking on the one hand of my own father, and on the other, of my son when he was small. Thanks you Linnea, for your eloquence and grace. GraceAnne GraceAnne A.
