I agree totally with Carrie Schadrie. When I first looked at the poetic form, I was not sure that this is was going to be a book that I could get through, but within a page or two I was "into" the book. it is beautifully written. I don;t think that I have been as taken with a book since "Toning the Sweep." The reader can "feel" the dust bowl of the 30's, the physical pain of burns and the dust,, the mental pain of loss by death and the use of her hands, and the pain of poverty. This book is exceptional and a gem. Michele Missner
