Matt, thanks for sharing your interest in reading about eating disorders in books for young readers. We encourage individuals in the CCBC-NET community with responses to your message to write to you directly. This is easy to do, because you included your e-mail address in your message. At this point we hope to have the CCBC-NET community as a whole remain with the discussion of historical fiction as it pertains to the book I Thought My Soul Would Rise and Fly by Joyce Hansen and to the other books brought to visibility through the outcomes of the 1998 Coretta Scott King Book Awards. Sincerely, Ginny (gmkruse at ccbc.soemadison.wisc.edu)

Hello all,

I am currently reading a book entitled "Wasted" by Marya Hornbacher about eating disorders. This seems like a very important issue to students in Grades 1-9 and I was wondering if anyone knew of other books that do a good job addressing the issue of eating disorders for students, and how we could incorporate it into the classroom.

Thank you. - Matt
