Ginny, this is an undergraduate (2 credit hours) "Children's Literature" class in the education department at Idaho State University. This semester I'm teaching 2 sesctions and, like usual, only 12% of the students are male.

I've had great success booktalking Harris and Me in these classes. The guys read, get excited, and then get some of the women to read it. The discussions become spirited since some love the book and others don't. I think might Wringer will be have a similar following.

What do you think? Should we make a list of books like these?
