For those who'd like to glance at the art of the twenties, the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco have a current show at the Palace of the Legion of Honor. It can be accessed at:
http://www.thinker.org/index.shtml
Then-?cess "Rhapsodies in Black: Art of the Harlem Renaissance" and pull up the slides.
I've read many books from the times andstill wonder why Zora Neal Hurston wasn't accepted. Authors and musicians are also featured in the exhibit. It may be coming to a town near you--so watch out for it. It's well worth the viewing.
