The art in Harlem is reminiscent of the art of Romare Bearden who made fabulous collages in New York in the 1960s and 1970s. This would have been considerably later than the Harlem Renaissance.
Although the book came with an inserted "study guide," I thought it would have been nice to have had notes incorporated into the book identifying some of the places and people referred to.
