I am reading The Girl Who Dreamed Only Geese by Howard Norman. It's a collection of ten Inuit tales and is a very beautiful book. It's rather large and heavy. The end papers and the page facing each new tale are white with white snowflake designs printed on them. The color illustrations, by Leo and Diane Dillon, are representative of the pair's always outstanding work. In addition, running above each page of text, the Dillions have retold the tales using black and white illustrations depicting Inuit culture.

The tales themselves are so well done. So far, they are very humorous and just right for reading aloud to older children and adults. There's one of Noah and the Ark stuck in the ice of Hudson Bay that had me laughing out loud.

This book is a pleasure to hold, view and read.
