On Katie O'Dell Madison's recommendation (see below), I read Leon's Story. She describes it very well, so I won't elaborate, but I agree with you, Katie, that this is definitely a great work of literature, and I think that the artist's restrained illustrations, which went through many incarnations, explained in a note at the end, add a lovely, dignified accent. In fact, the book-making involved here was exemplary in general. It is too bad that it didn't get mentioned. It's a heart-breaking but inspiring story, and I recommend it to everyone.
