I have booktalked this title ever since reading. it. It is so very funny and such great characters. Since I am in a k-5 school, I do tell my audience that Harris uses a lot of swear words, but how his sister whacks him to correct. him. We claen out our entire district with ILL every time. The setting is so unusual and the characters unique. The narrator is with Harris' family because his own situation is unfit - parents drunks. The book usually goes to the boys, but some girls try it. And I have never had a complaint about the language, I assume because I tell people about it and make sure they understand how integral it is to the story.
