I haven't read as many of the new books as some of you guys, but I have just finished one I absolutely loved: The Facts Speak For Themselves by Brock Cole. I was afraid I would find it too dark and depressing, but I should have trusted Mr. Cole more than that as I've loved his other two novels too. This one is quite astounding. The main character, Lynda, is so compelling, an innocent who knows too much, but somehow maintains her SELF through one harrowing circumstance after another. She's a survivor; you just know she'll grow up to be an author, and make a fortune in the stock market besides. And, the book is often funny, in the same sly way that Celine and The Goats could be. I vote for THE FACTS.
