It's great to find out some of the books you've enjoyed, appreciated
(and even loved!) this year. It's always helpful when you let us know the "why" behind your comment, even if it's only a few words. Thanks for all of the comments so far. We'll hope to hear from many others during the weeks to come. We'll use our time between now and January 12 for this discussion of 1997 favorites, which is a favorite discussion of ours, too!

Anyone interested is welcome to read the 11 books on that discussion list and join others that evening at the CCBC. Various interested individuals participate in each discussion; the groups are never composed of the same people. All of the discussions except the Batchelder discussion included CCBC staff, teachers, school librarians & public librarians. The Batchelder discussion involved graduate students along with the CCBC staff.

The actual winners of these national awards will be announced on Monday, January 12, 1998, during the Midwinter Conference of the American Library Association held in New Orleans.

Cheers, Ginny
